About Balbriggan
Lark Concert Hall
The Lark is Ireland’s newest, most innovative, entertainment venue. It is more than a concert hall or theatre – The Lark is the jewel in the crown of The Irish Institute of Music and Song’s vision to create a self-sufficient, purpose built music campus, encompassing a music school, café, bar & restaurant, guest house and 400 seat music venue.
St. Peter & Paul's Church
St. Peter & Paul’s Church in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin is the town’s main Roman Catholic parish church, built in 1842 in a Gothic Revival style. Set prominently on Dublin Street, it has long been a focal point of community life. As a venue, St. Peter & Paul’s is widely used for weddings, funerals, christenings, and major parish celebrations, valued for its spacious interior, strong acoustics, and historic character. Its central location, architectural presence, and artistic features make it not only a place of worship but also one of Balbriggan’s most significant ceremonial spaces.
St. Georges Church
This early Gothic Revival Church of Ireland church, built in 1813 and rebuilt after a fire in 1833, is a detached, T-shaped building with a three-bay nave, east transepts, and a prominent west clock tower with octagonal spire. Designed by William Welland, with later additions by W. Gillespie, it has a strong architectural presence that makes it well suited as a formal ceremonial venue.
Inside, the church offers a spacious, well-proportioned interior with an exposed timber roof, a timber gallery supported on cast-iron columns, and clear sightlines throughout the nave and transepts. Stained-glass windows, stone detailing, and polychrome tiled flooring around the raised altar create an elegant and atmospheric setting. These features, together with good acoustics and a dignified historic character, make the church particularly suitable for weddings, memorial services, concerts, and other cultural or community events, as well as regular worship.
